Rabbi Elya Silfen
(Director)

Rabbi Silberberg is an ordained Rov - the highest level of authority of Jewish Law. He is one of the most sought after lecturers on Chabad.org, has authored three scholarly texts on halacha (Jewish law) and Torah thought. He also sits on the Presidium of the Vaad **Horabonim** (Council of Orthodox Rabbis) of Detroit, is executive director of the Detroit chapter of F.R.E.E. (Friends of Refugees of Eastern Europe), and sits on the boards of local and national institutions. In 1975 the Rebbe gave him and his dear wife Chaya Sarah a blessing “You will have more success than you can imagine.”

"Rabbi Shneur," the son of Rabbi and Rebbetzin Silberberg of West Bloomfield, was ordained at Lubavitcher Yeshiva in Brooklyn, New York. As a student rabbi he served in Russia and in Kenya, spent Jewish Holidays in Israeli Army bases, taught torah to inmates in a ‘Yeshiva in Prison’ program in W. Virginia, and directed numerous summer programs for youth in the United States and Israel.

Kamocha - Rabbi Perry is a Los Angeles based Rabbi of the Chabad-Lubavitch movement. Born in Tucson, AZ to an Ashkenazi mother and a non-Jewish African-American father, Yonason was raised in a secular family with little interaction with the Jewish community. At the age of 19, he accepted a life of Torah observance after being introduced to the Chabad-Lubavitch movement. Yonason spent the next several years in the Lubavitch yeshiva in Morristown, NJ. During this time, he traveled to various yeshivos for the purpose of speaking to the students about the detriment of internal racism within the orthodox Jewish community. After a cello audition landed him a seat in the symphony orchestra at the University of Arizona, Jonathan relocated to Tucson and completed his degree in music business with a minor in Judaic studies. He went on to receive Smicha (Rabbinical ordination) from Rav Nachman Wilhelm and Rav Dovid Shochat. He and his wife have written several articles pertaining to race from the perspective of Jewish philosophy. Yonason currently lives in Los Angeles, CA where he and his family are active members of the community.

Rabbi at Cornell Univeristy - Born in Zimbabwe, I immigrated to Perth, Australia with my family when I was 10 years old. I attended Jewish day schools and graduated from the University of Western Australia in 2003 with a Bachelor of Science and a Law degree. After working for one year as a lawyer in Perth, I moved to Israel to pursue my studies of Jewish law and philosophy. After marrying my wife Miri in 2009, we moved to Crown Heights where I was ordained as a Rabbi. We moved to Cornell in 2012 with our only son Mendel at the time, to work for Rabbi Eli & Chana Silberstein at the Chabad House of Cornell, also serving the Ithaca Jewish community. Our family has grown, now with 5 children. We feel privileged to service the Jewish student population at Cornell and look forward to meeting you and sharing stories and ideas.

“The Mashpia” of the Yeshiva, Rabbi Wineberg is the son of the late Rabbi Yosef Wineberg, whom the Lubavticher Rebbe entrusted to teach Tanya to the masses via the radio. Rabbi Avraham’s love and passion for chassidus theology and Chassidic characters, is felt by his weekly shiur.

Yosef Wilhelm and his wife have been at the forefront of a phenomenon of gearing programs directly to the young adult crowd in the Upper East Side of Manhatten. Often one on one, he always has an eye towards making real connections and spreading the joy of Judaism. He has created warm community of over 2,000 people, and continues to inspire and guide them.

Marty (Mordechai) Goodman is the owner of Lou’s Delicatessen, a successful chain of restaurants in Detroit, Michigan. He is also a well known and accomplished teacher of Torah, with expertise in the area of Drush, the homiletical component of Torah. Hundreds of his classes are available on Chabad.org.

Zeesy is co-director with her husband, Rabbi Shneur, of outreach at Tugman Bais Chabad of West Bloomfield, has not stopped moving. With boundless energy and enthusiasm, this talented rebbetzin raises seven children, directs the Jewish Women’s Circle (JWC), a growing network of women who have monthly learning and recreational gatherings.
